Which wasn't a very long entry, sorry bout that one. Don't worry Tyler, I do have my writing craft back. The last two weeks of school is upon LCU, and I have nothing to do for the summer. I guess i will come home since i got Jewed out of staying at the Living Center. There is a stupid new "deen of housing" and she has made a bunch of gay rules, to where I can't get in the upper classman dorms! I really don't want to go into to much detail on the rules, but Kari Wood (the new deen) is a bainch! Good Job to all you LTC people out there, and congrats to my sis.

I have developed a slight smoking habit.... I guess that is bad. j/k Maybe I should stop watching Cowboy Bebop?

I got to play a game of frizbee golf on Sunday. I have bad writers block.

Saturday, March 27, 2004

I needed to write about something besides books and literature. Which is better ice cream or custard? Well, I had the pleasure a while back of eating at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Sheridan’s Frozen Custard, located on <st1:Street><st1:address>82nd street here in Lubbock</st1:address></st1:Street>. What is custard you ask, well custard is not like ice cream or frozen yogurt. It is smoother, thicker, creamier, and a lot richer tasting than the other two.

Sheridan’s serves many choices of custard deserted treats. You can get the traditional scoop or two of your favorite flavor with a topping or order a ‘Concrete.’ This is where they take a custard flavor and blend it with a topping, such as Butterfinger. It is very similar to a blizzard from Dairy Queen. The concrete desert I ordered was called Courtney's Dirt and Worms. This is vanilla custard blended with Oreo cookie and toped with Gummy Worms. They also serve a wide variety of sundaes, pies, specialty sodas, and hot dogs! Yes they even have their own unique menu of different hot dogs.

Their building is small with a large portico attached, this is where you stand under and place your orders at the window. Two big ice cream cone lights grace the top of the structure with a big neon sign to boot. Heaters beam down from the ceiling to keep customers warm during the cold weather. There is a huge 10ft menu to order off, and pictures of a cartoon cow with sunglasses on everywhere. Overall I give Sheridan’s Frozen Custard 10 out of 10. It is a great place to get something to eat and an even better place to take a date. But don’t take my word for it, try it yourself! Oh and the girls that work their are hot!

I also am a big fan of Kaleidoscoopes, an ice cream store here in Lubbock. I go there for one reason only; Rocky Road! It is the best ever. It is made with dark chocolate ice cream, almonds, and huge marshmallows. Their ice cream shakes are awesome too, because they make them after you order them. Kaleidoscoopes rubbed Baskin Robins out of the scene a few years ago. They have no cool store design like Sheridan's, but in the end the Rocky Road ice cream beats them all.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

Well, I finally finished the Gerald Durrell book, and have moved on to the last few chapters of a memoir I never finished. No, it's not my memoir. It is called Writing Life Stories, by Bill Roorbach. I like the book, but it has too many writing exercises, like ten per chapter. Okay so maybe I am exaggerating a tiny bit. But you know with five essays, reading novels, and writing 1000 words a week in a journal (not this one) it is hard to find time to squeeze in "writing exercises." Not to mention all the other school work I have to do. Dr. Blasingame's class is a killer! Always writing, but such is the life of a future English teacher. Luckily Dr. B is out of town all week. So I have time to catch up on stuff. I am going to be writing all day long on Saturday. Have you noticed that I have used the conjunction "but" quite a bit in this journal entry? But but but but budy but, but bitty but, but but bu-but!

Saturday, March 20, 2004

Well i just talked to Heather for a few hours. It was nice to hear from her. This Spring Break has been great because all I have done is sit on my but and read. I think i am getting fat. I am still reading Durrell's novel and it is so freaking halarious. I suggest any aspiring writer or scientist read it. Also may I recomend Seabiscuit while I am at it. The movie does no justice to the book. Of course, no movie ever can compare to a book. Oh..... a little reminder, crap or get off the pot!
